Growing up in a small town in Southeast Kentucky, I learned the values of hard work, determination, and resilience. My dad, an attorney, and my mom, a dedicated school teacher, instilled in me the importance of effort and perseverance. Watching them both commit to their careers and to our family shaped who I am today. My parents worked hard, and that’s the mindset I carry into every aspect of my life.
From a young age, I learned that success wasn’t handed to you—it was earned through perseverance. I was taught that hard work always pays off.
As a child, I was drawn to law enforcement, dreaming of becoming an FBI agent. However, life had different plans for me, my journey shifted towards law, a path that led me to become a prosecutor and eventually evolve into a successful personal injury lawyer. Through my career, I faced challenges but always sought growth, both professionally and personally.
Like many, I found myself in a cycle of chasing pushing through hard times without truly taking care of myself. I drank to cope, to celebrate, and to belong—yet I always felt there was something missing.
It wasn’t until later in life that I began to truly reflect on my choices. After years of focusing solely on my career and financial success, I realized that I had neglected my physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness. I began my journey of transformation, not just externally but internally. It took a lot of self-reflection and difficult conversations with myself, but I knew I had to make better choices—for myself, my family, and my future.
Now, I wake up at 5:00 a.m., committed to starting each day with intention. Whether it’s a morning run, quiet meditation, or simply sitting in silence, I’ve found a routine that grounds me. Through this journey, I’ve discovered the power of gratitude, the importance of surrounding myself with a supportive community, and the strength that comes from prioritizing my health and well-being.
This journey is ongoing, and I’m excited to see where it takes me next. Every step I take is one toward a more balanced, fulfilled life—mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
